How to live a joyful life?
Here are 7 helpful ways to set your mood and live a joyful life.
1.) Choose to be kind.
Always choose to do the right actions, show empathy to others, love your neighbors, do goodwill, and have a peaceful heart. Helping others without second thoughts.
2.) Count your blessings.
Give thanks for all the blessings (big or small). It isn’t just about having more and more stuff, it’s about enjoying the things you have now. And always remember, blessings aren’t necessarily material things. It can be a blessing of good health, fruitfulness, or victory in life. Always give support to the person that needs it and to the people you love, doing so will bring happiness.
3.) Make it a habit.
According to the European Journal of Social Psychology which was published in 2009,
“It takes 18 to 254 days for a person to form a new habit and an average of 66 days for a new behavior to become automatic.”
It’s good that you start to ponder often on
“..whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; …” Philippians 4:8 KJV.
4.) Desire to be happy.
According to Joseph Murphy,
“Nothing is accomplished without desire. Desire is a wish with wings of imagination and faith. Imagine the fulfillment of your desire, and feel its reality, and it will come to pass. Happiness comes in answered prayer.”
5.) Pullout yourself from the thoughts of fear, worry, anger, hate, and failure.
Fear, worry, anger, hate, and failure are inevitable in life; any person may be able to experience it, if not now, over time. The level you’ve experienced might not be as much as the others but you should not be comparing it because that’s still the case. When you let yourself constantly dwell on those things, you’ll always lead yourself to depression. And if you fall into any of these things, all you need to do is go back on track and just learn from those experiences. Remember that your mood will be set based on your thoughts.
6.) Anchor your thoughts on peace, endurance, security, and divine guidance.
Fill your mind with the following thoughts:
- Peace – Do not lose your peace of mind.
- Endurance – Continue to strengthen your stability.
- Security – Do not worry about anything, accept the challenges with open arms.
- Divine Guidance – Know from Whom we can get the guidance that will help us endure the challenges while we walk to several paths in our lives.
“If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.” James 3:13 NLT
Let us become a product of happiness, and encourage others.
7.) Give your compliments to others and always show your gratitude.
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12 KJV
Show your appreciation for someone’s existence in your life.
- Empower people to help them find the thing they are good at.
- Give something that will contribute for their cultivation; might be a good advise, genuine feedback or an appreciation to what they do.
- By giving appreciation we also practice our gratitude.
Give people the flowers they deserve. Hopefully, these suggestions can help you continue your joyful daily life.
